Alon Rotem

I have the honor and privilege of being selected as the Basketball Chair for the 2024 European Maccabi Youth Games in London, England!

Some of you know that I am a full-time basketball dad, traveling with my son Lucas year-round for basketball tournaments. This year, I decided to join Maccabi USA because I wanted to find a positive way to weave my passion for basketball with an opportunity to give back to our Jewish community during these challenging times.

Maccabi USA has been around since 1948 and it's mission to "build Jewish pride through sport" has become even more critical in today's world with the recent rise of antisemitism we are all observing. Watching hateful incidents and protests from our cities to our colleges, we all know it's not easy being young and Jewish these days (even in the USA). One way we can support our young Jewish athletes is by providing them access to the Maccabi USA platform to excel in sports, foster Jewish friendships, solidarity and pride in their heritage and identity -- as well as a love for Israel.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to support Maccabi USA Basketball. I hope you will support my fundraising efforts in this life-changing experience in July, when more than 3,000 Jewish athletes will gather from countries around the world. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these incredible athletes.
